5G Support: 5G support found in these smartphones of Oppo, know the condition of Samsung, Google, and Apple

Posted on 17th Nov 2022 05:50 pm by rohit kumar

Oppo India has announced that most of its 5G phones have received a software update that supports Reliance Jio's standalone (SA) 5G network. Oppo has released a software update for its smartphones, which makes the Oppo Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, Reno 7, Oppo F21 Pro 5G, Oppo F19 Pro+ and Oppo K10 ready for Jio's true 5G services. Users using these devices can now experience true 5G in cities where 5G has been made available by Jio. The company has also said that other devices will get their respective 5G SA software updates soon.

Oppo has left behind leading brands Samsung, Google and Apple in releasing 5G updates for its devices in India. We are saying this because Samsung, Google and Apple have not yet introduced their 5G update.

5g in india

Jio has more than 420 million customers in India. In August, Jio bought airwaves worth 11 billion (about Rs 90,600 crore) in the 19 billion (about Rs 1.6 lakh crore) 5G spectrum auction. Airtel had won spectrum worth more than $5 billion (about Rs 41,000 crore), while Vodafone-Idea spent more than $2 billion (about Rs 16,500 crore). 5G services were launched in India on 1 October through Reliance Jio's Two 5G and Airtel's 5G Plus services.

Samsung's 5G update will roll out in December

After the 5G roll-out, Jio and Airtel have managed to cover many major cities. However, there are many areas in Tier II and Tier III areas where 5G support has not been received yet. Let us tell you that in October, the government had ordered smartphone makers including Samsung and Apple to update their phones with 5G connectivity-ready software at least by the end of 2022. South Korean company Samsung has also said that they will rollout their 5G software by December. However, it looks like Oppo has left most of its major rivals behind by rolling out its 5G update in mid-November itself.
