After the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, there was a lot of politics over the match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 cricket tournament being held in Dubai. Along with this, there were also protests at many places in the country.
In protest against this high-voltage match, opposition parties protested across the country on Sunday and called upon the people to boycott this match, as the country is sponsoring terrorism. Shiv Sena (UBT) held protests in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Jammu, while Aam Aadmi Party members demonstrated in Delhi. Targeting the BJP and the Center, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut mocked the nationalism and patriotism of the ruling party.
TVs were broken, and slogans were raised.
Raut said that the BJP's Hindutva is a tamasha. According to the Mumbai State Bureau, Raut has said that there is anger among the general public of the country regarding this match. Therefore, the Prime Minister decided to go to Manipur to divert the attention of the public from this match. Meanwhile, party workers led by spokesperson Anand Dubey staged a protest, broke televisions and raised slogans against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the central government. In Mumbai, women activists protested with sindoor in their hands.
Congress leader Udit Raj also launched a scathing attack and said that there are commercial interests behind allowing the match. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena UBT workers in Bengaluru burnt the Pakistani flag. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the decision to play a cricket match with Pakistan and asked the BJP whether the money earned from the match is more valuable than the lives of 26 civilians killed in the Pahalgam terror attack.

Sports have their own discipline and quorum: Manohar Lal.
According to the Karnal correspondent, Union Minister Manohar Lal said that sports in the world have their own discipline and quorum. These matches are not being held in Pakistan, but in Dubai.
He said that Operation Sindoor was carried out in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which was a big job. It has been praised all around. Even today, we have warned the enemies that a strong response will be given in case of any nefarious act. It is not that enmity with Pakistan has to be maintained permanently. Yes, we have some conditions. Pakistan will have to end terrorism and return the enslaved Jammu and Kashmir to India. If Pakistan accepts these conditions, then there is no obstacle to building good relations.
According to PTI, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, while hitting back at Shiv Sena (UBT), said, Some people show fake patriotism and opportunistic love for the country. The armed forces and Prime Minister Modi are there to take care of Sindoor.
The BJP accused Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray of hypocrisy over the call for a boycott of the match and questioned his alliance with the Congress.
Pahalgam victims' pain spilled out.
Family members of the victims of the Pahalgam attack criticized the government for the match. Sawan Parmar, who lost his father and brother in the attack, expressed his pain over this match and said that Operation Sindoor now seems useless. There should be no relationship of any kind with Pakistan. If you want to play the match, then bring back my 16-year-old brother.
His mother, Kiran Yatish Parmar, questioned PM Modi that if Operation Sindoor is not yet complete, then why is this match being organized? The wounds of the victim's families have not yet healed.
Asawari Jagdale, daughter of Santosh Jagdale, a victim of the attack, said that this is very shameful. It has not even been six months since the Pahalgam incident. After that, Operation Sindoor took place. I feel bad that despite all this, the BCCI has no shame in organizing the match.
