United Nations Secretary-General invoked Article 99
Amid the conflict in Gaza, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday took a major step by invoking Article 99 of the UN Charter and formally referred the situation in Gaza to the UN Security Council. Aid supplies were badly affected
Aid supplies to southern Gaza have been badly hit in the latest conflict. The UN humanitarian aid office said, in the last three days, flour and drinking water could only be delivered to areas near Rafah on Egypt's southern border because Israeli forces have closed the roads. Fuel-medical supplies at Al-Aqsa Hospital have reached 'minimum levels'.
