Amid the war with Israel, Iran has asked its citizens to uninstall WhatsApp. Iranian state television on Tuesday asked people to remove WhatsApp from their smartphones. It was claimed that WhatsApp has collected users' data to send to Israel.

Iran believes that WhatsApp has sent intelligence information to Israel and this information can be used by Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.

What did WhatsApp say about the allegation?

In a statement, WhatsApp said that it is "concerned that these false reports will be an excuse to block our services at a time when people need them most. WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption. This means that no service provider in between can read the messages.

The statement said, "We do not track your exact location. We do not keep a record of who everyone is messaging and we also do not track the private messages that people are sending to each other. We do not provide any information in bulk to any government."
