IsraelVsHamas: Another setback to efforts for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Mossad Chief's visit to Qatar canceled

Efforts to broker another ceasefire between Israel and Hamas have suffered a setback. The Chief of Mossad was going to go to Qatar to discuss the ceasefire on behalf of Israel, but now his visit has been canceled. However, the reason for the cancellation of the trip has not been given yet. The families of the Israeli hostages have expressed their displeasure over this and have sought answers from the government.

 

Decisions taken in Israel's war cabinet

Let us tell you that Qatar is mediating between Israel and Hamas. Both sides are exploring possibilities for another ceasefire and the release of hostages. In this regard, David Barney, Chief of Israel's intelligence agency Mossad, was going to visit Doha, the capital of Qatar, but now this visit has been canceled. On Wednesday, Israeli media claimed that Israel's war-related cabinet met, chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It was in this meeting itself that the decision was taken to cancel the Mossad Chief's visit to Qatar.

 

 

Setback to ceasefire efforts

On October 7, Hamas attacked Israel and took 240 people hostage, including children and elderly people. In the recent ceasefire, Hamas released about 100 Israeli hostages, including many foreign citizens. However, after this the ceasefire ended and attacks from both sides continued. Now once again America, Qatar, and Egypt are trying to establish a ceasefire between both sides and talks are going on regarding this, but now the ceasefire efforts have suffered a setback due to the cancellation of the Mossad Chief's visit to Doha. The Mossad Chief was scheduled to go to Qatar to negotiate ceasefire terms.

 

Resentment among hostages' families

The families of the hostages have expressed their displeasure over the cancellation of the Mossad Chief's visit to Qatar. People have sought answers from the government and said that they are fed up with these differences and the deadlock situation. Let us tell you that the Mossad Chief is leading the talks from Israel's side to release the hostages. The head of the CIA is presenting the American side. Let us tell you that there are eight American citizens among the hostages. Families of American hostages met US President Joe Biden on Wednesday. These people also met the CIA chief.
