Jaipur Hospital Fire: 'The smell was coming from inside, began to do it on opening the gate'; Negligence of SMS personnel

A painful accident occurred late Monday night in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. A fire broke out from a short circuit in the ICU ward of Trauma Center of Sawai Mansingh (SMS), the largest government hospital here. So far, seven patients have died in this accident, while many serious patients were safely taken out with the help of the fire brigade.

 

When did the fire occur?

It is being reported that at 12.30 pm, this fire started in the store of the Neuro ICU ward at the Trauma Center. Paper, ICU goods, and blood sampler tubes were kept here. The Nodal Officer and Senior Doctor of the Trauma Center said that a short circuit is expected to fire. There were 11 patients in the ICU at the time of the accident. There were 13 patients in the ICU next to him.

 

Family members accused

Family members said that the incident took place around 12:30 pm. Suddenly, the smoke appeared from inside, after which the entire staff of the hospital ran away from the spot. During this time, the Timardars present with the patients started running around with their loved ones. Family members allege that they did not get any assistance for about two hours.

 

Another family said that there was a strong smell from inside the ward. When the hospital personnel present there were told about this, they said in a careless manner that the key is coming, after that they will see it. Family members say that they gave information about the smoke three to four times, but the personnel ignored it. Due to this negligence, many patients died of suffocation.

 

We were not allowed inside: family

The family also alleged that neither a doctor nor other medical workers were present at the time of the incident. Only policemen reached the spot and helped him. The anger of the family was so much that they exposed the negligence of the staff of SMS Hospital, saying that the security personnel did not open the gate on time.

 

He questioned why immediate action was not taken despite such a huge negligence. Family members said that whatever difference the government makes, the burning people, the dead, died. He alleged that neither anyone was allowed inside nor any was allowed to exit.

 

Doctors and compounders ran away.

Narendra Singh, another relative, said that he was not aware of the fire in the ICU initially. He said that I had come to eat down, then I did not know anything. There was no equipment or facility to extinguish the fire. My mother was admitted there.

 

At the same time, Om Prakash, whose 25 -year -old maternal uncle's boy was admitted. He told about the accident that when the smoke started spreading, I had warned the doctors that it could cause patients to suffer. But by the time the smoke spread more, the doctors and compounders had fled from there.
