Ranchi, March 25 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren Tuesday termed the leaders quitting the party as "impure blood".
"Even you have donated blood. Sometimes, impure blood needs to be cleaned. New blood flows after impure blood is cleaned," Soren told reporters in Jamshedpur to a question regarding party leaders quitting the party.
Two Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislators Hemlal Murmu and Vidyut Baran Mahto resigned from the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Later, they also quit as members of the assembly. They have been fielded from Rajmahal and Jamshedpur, respectively, for the Lok Sabha poll.
Reacting to Soren's remark, Murmu said: "The statement is indicative of desperation. JMM is now suffering from blood cancer. A responsible person cannot talk like this way. We allowed him to become chief minister and he is passing such remarks which is unfortunate."
