Maharashtra: 'I will give a reward of 11 lakhs for killing the person who converts people', provocative statement by Maharashtra BJP MLA

A BJP MLA from Maharashtra has made an inflammatory statement. In Sangli, BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar said that whoever kills a person involved in conversion, I will personally reward him with Rs 11 lakh. He made this statement in the case of a woman committing suicide in Sangli after her in-laws pressured her to convert to Christianity.

Recently, 28-year-old woman Rituja Rajge committed suicide in Sangli. The woman's family had alleged that her in-laws followed Christianity. They forced Rituja to go to church with them, read the Bible, and pray. If she refused, she was beaten up. Troubled by all this, the woman committed suicide.

In this case, BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar said that whoever does the work of conversion if our people kill that person, I will personally reward him with Rs 11 lakh. He also mentioned the film Sairat in his statement.

Sairat was a Marathi movie. This movie was released in 2016. In this movie, it was shown that a poor Dalit boy falls in love with a rich upper-caste girl. Both of them fight the whole world for their love but in the end, they have to pay the price of this love by sacrificing their lives.
