Joint Statement of India and Egypt; The world should stop giving shelter to terrorism, another Muslim country's indirect warning to Pakistan

India and Egypt have appealed to all the countries of the world not only to stop giving shelter to any kind of terrorist organizations and terrorists but also to take steps to eliminate them from their roots. It was also said on behalf of both countries that every country should also take steps to prevent cross-border terrorism.

 

A joint statement has been issued by the two countries late at night on January 26, 2023, at the end of the three-day visit of Egyptian President al-Sisi. In the statement, Pakistan was indirectly targeted for terrorist activities. Egypt, along with India, is the third Arab Muslim country to send a strong message on the issue of terrorism. Before this, UAE and Saudi Arabia also kept such a view with India.

 

Indian companies will get land in Suez Economic Zone

In the joint statement, it was told that Egypt has accepted the suggestion of the Government of India that Indian companies will be allotted a special place in the Suez Economic Zone to be established by it. A master plan has been demanded from India in this regard. In the top-level meeting between Al-Sisi PM Narendra Modi on January 25, 2023, there was a very important discussion regarding economic cooperation. In this, the interest of Indian companies to invest in Egypt was told from the Indian side. Both leaders expressed satisfaction at the substantial growth in bilateral trade. Al-Sisi has also met Indian businessmen and invited them to invest in Egypt in petrochemicals, energy, agriculture, and information technology.

 

The emphasis of both countries on strengthening defense ties

India and Egypt also stressed the continuous strengthening of defense ties and expressed satisfaction with the improvements made in recent years. It has been agreed that cooperation in every field of defense will be taken forward. The need for joint defense production was also discussed and specific proposals related to joint production would be considered in the Joint Defense Committee constituted between the two countries.
