The Indian team made a winning start to its campaign in the World Cup 2023. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team defeated Australia by 6 wickets with 52 balls to spare in the fifth match of the tournament on Sunday. It was not at all easy for the Indian team to win.

 

In the match played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and bundled out the Kangaroo team for only 199 runs. But after this, India also had a very bad start. Ishan Kishan, captain Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer could not even open their account. India had lost three wickets for just 2 runs.

Rahul scored an unbeaten 97 runs in 115 balls with the help of 8 fours and two sixes. He made a partnership of 165 runs with Virat Kohli for the fourth wicket. Rahul returned only after winning the match for the team.

 

2) Virat Kohli - The Indian team's run machine Virat Kohli once again proved why he is called a great batsman. Kohli played a major role in getting Team India out of a difficult situation. The right-handed batsman scored 85 runs in 116 balls with the help of 6 fours. Kohli took advantage of the lease of life and took the match out of Australia's reach. Fans will not be able to forget the partnership of Kohli-Rahul for a long time.

 

3) Ravindra Jadeja - On the Chennai pitch, Jaddu showed his amazing spin and hunted three Kangaroo batsmen. Jadeja was India's most successful bowler. The left-arm spinner took three wickets for 28 runs including two maidens in 10 overs. Jadeja pushed Australia on the back foot by taking important wickets of Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Alex Carey.

4) Kuldeep Yadav – Team India's Chinaman also played an important role in the victory. Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets for 42 runs in 10 overs. Kuldeep acted as a pair breaker. He took the catch of David Warner (41) on his ball. Recall that there was a partnership of 69 runs between Smith and Warner for the second wicket. Then Kuldeep made the situation of the Kangaroo team weak by bowling the dangerous Glenn Maxwell (15).

 

5) Jasprit Bumrah - The Indian team's fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah had spoiled the start of Australia. Bumrah did not even allow Mitchell Marsh to open the account.
