Indian Police Force Review: Policemen stay two steps away, take and give just the same, Tana na na, Tana na na, na na na

In a press conference held earlier in the era of Amazon Prime Video, when Hindi cinema's Khiladi brand Akshay Kumar reached the stage with his body on fire, it felt as if something exciting like Jason Statham, Tom Cruise or the 'Fast and Furious' series is coming on OTT. Is going to be seen by the Indian audience. This is the time when leopards used to live in the forests around Mumbai. In between, Netflix brought the police series ‘Khaki’ from different states. Rohit Shetty's police world is already separate, so Prime Video has decided to put everything together and make a series 'Indian Police Force'. This series is flawed by its very name. Police in India is a state subject, here no agency has active police work like the FBI. Other agencies like NIA, ED, or CBI also do not do anything that their officers can do something like entry in slow motion on the background music of Amar Mohile. Rohit Shetty's previous film 'Circus' had reduced the shine of his comedy brand, and now 'Indian Police Force' has also tarnished his police universe.

DNA of Batla House

Taking the real incident of the Batla House encounter and adding some fictional stories before and after it, about half a dozen people have written a series of seven episodes of an average of 30 minutes each, 'Indian Police Force'. Looking at the stars, swords, and Ashok Lata on the shoulders of the officers, it seems that the writers of the series never sat down and talked comfortably to the IPS officers who graduated from the Hyderabad Police Academy. The way these officers wear jackets just before the encounter, it seems that these would be bulletproof jackets, but when the bullet goes through the lungs, it is revealed that the makers of the series made the policemen wear jackets so that they could only be used for their identification. Wanted to make the audience understand that these are policemen in plain clothes and are from Special Cell. Only Rohit Shetty can tell what image Amazon Prime Video is trying to create of the Delhi Police who came out to fight the terrorists in Delhi. It seems that it is not a police series but a joke. An IG rank officer gives up after seeing a child in the possession of a terrorist and throws his pistol toward the terrorist so that he can pick up the pistol while holding the child.

Stars losing their shine due to bad series

‘Indian Police Force’ appears to be a forced series. This series was considered a lifesaver for Siddharth Malhotra who was not able to do anything special in films. Rohit Shetty also dusted off Vivek Oberoi and brought him in front of the camera. Shilpa Shetty's entry scene in a Ford car seems as if Rohit has made the intro scene of a car and not of a Gujarat ATS officer. And, how much respect Shilpa has been given in this series, becomes clear from the scene when she just stands in the background in the scene showing Siddharth Malhotra's expertise in making her cry. The scene division of Mithun Chakraborty's films made in bulk used to be better than this series. The villain of that era, Mukesh Rishi, is also a part of the 'Indian Police Force', the officer holding the position, will reach the dhaba without any fuss to have dinner with his subordinate officers and will pay the bill to his junior only. Will even let you do it, just seeing it makes you laugh.

Vivek's attempt to become Big B

The web series 'Indian Police Force' is a series that wins not only with its story, and screenplay but also with its dialogues. When Vivek Oberoi addresses the entire force standing from the office balcony and tries to become Amitabh Bachchan, another weak layer of the series is revealed. Along with the male artists who have been marginalized in Hindi cinema, this series also selectively presents female artists. There is Shweta Tiwari, whose character does not understand what to do if someone comes from behind and tries to console her while she is crying. Isha Talwar has a job to shine and she does it well. But, the work of Nafisa as Vaidehi is worth noticing in this series. Among the rest of the cast, Nikitin Dheer has performed the responsibility of showcasing his stature very well. Yes, there is an artiste who keeps trying poorly to add Haryanvi flavor to the food.

Big blow to Rohit's branding

The only reason to watch the web series 'Indian Police Force' has been the name of Rohit Shetty associated with it. But, when he is not taking his name seriously, then it is meaningless to expect anything special from others. The cinematography of the series is so light that its set, built in a studio in Mumbai to show Old Delhi, keeps showing its weakness from every corner. It is surprising to think that the whole city is resonating with explosions and the police are coming in slow motion, there is no sense of restlessness anywhere, and the DOP of the series is not even scolding the director about this. In the name of background music, Amar Mohile has only one tune, Tana Na Na, Tana Na Na, Na Na Na..! Nothing special in other series either.
