Karnataka Hijab Controversy: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the state government is not planning to open any such college, in which Muslim girls wearing hijab will be allowed to enter the college premises. Earlier, the Karnataka State Waqf Board had talked about opening ten such colleges in the state, in which Muslim girls would be able to wear hijab and go to college premises and classes. Earlier, the Karnataka Waqf Board made a big announcement. The Waqf Board is planning to open self-financed schools and colleges in the state. In these institutions, girl students will be allowed to attend classes wearing hijab. The Karnataka Waqf Board said that it would open the school by investing its land and its own money. On the other hand, the state government has denied having received any proposal in this regard.
