In the case of a student being lynched by a teacher in Karnataka, the NCPCR president said it is a heinous crime and shows a lack of sensitivity on the part of teachers. Such teachers are a danger to the students. We are sending a notice to the district administration to take appropriate action so that the guilty are punished.

The NCPCR chief has said that we are issuing advisories to the Principal Secretaries of the Education Department of all the states to sensitize the teachers against corporal punishment and ensure compliance with the guidelines issued by us. We are writing to the Chief Ministers of all the states so that such incidents can be prevented in the future.
