On this day, women observe a waterless fast for their husbands' long life, good health, and marital happiness. It is believed that women who observe this fast and worship Goddess Karva Chauth receive blessings of eternal good fortune, marital bliss, and family prosperity. Furthermore, worship of the Moon is also a tradition on Karva Chauth. The fast is always broken after sighting the moon, and without it, the fast is considered incomplete. According to the calendar, the Chaturthi Tithi began at 10:54 pm on October 9th.

This Tithi will end at 7:38 pm on October 10th.

 

According to the date, the Karva Chauth fast will be valid on October 10th, i.e., today.

 

The auspicious time for worship on Karva Chauth will be from 5:57 pm to 7:11 pm.

 

Auspicious Yoga on Karva Chauth 2025

The Krittika Nakshatra is present on Karva Chauth, which lasts until 5:31 pm.

 

It is accompanied by Siddha Yoga, which lasts until 5:41 pm, and only after this will Vyatipat Yoga begin.

The Moon will be in Taurus.

Rahukaal will last from 10:40 am to 12:07 pm.

Abhijit Muhurta will last from 11:44 am to 12:30 pm.

 

Puja Method

For worship on Karva Chauth, place a picture of Karva Mata on a clean platform.

Keep a pot filled with clean water near the platform.

Place vermilion, a lamp, Ganga water, rice grains, and turmeric on a clean plate.

Also, place flowers and jaggery on the plate.

Light a lamp and incense sticks.

Add a garland of flowers to Goddess Karva and offer flowers to the Goddess.

During this time, also place some money, turmeric, sweets, rice grains, and fresh fruit.

Listen to the Karva Chauth fast story and set aside the necessary items for donation.

After the moon rises at night, worship the Moon God and offer him water.

Then look at the moon through a sieve.

Look at the husband through the same sieve and accept water from his hands.

Now, touch your husband's feet, seek his blessings, and break the fast.

 

5 Special Rules for the Karva Chauth Fast

It is auspicious to take the Sargi before sunrise on Karva Chauth; do not consume anything after that.

The Karva Chauth fast story should always be recited while wearing 16 adornments and wearing a red saree.

 

Break the fast only after seeing the moon; otherwise, the fast is considered incomplete.

Observe a waterless fast on this day.

Consume tamasic foods during the fast and avoid using sharp objects.
