Rajasthan Royals won the 31st match of IPL 2024 on the last ball. Jos Buttler gave the team its sixth win with a century. Rajasthan continues to top the points table with 12 points while Kolkata remains at second place with eight points. Batting first, Kolkata scored 223 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs. In response, Rajasthan scored 224 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs and won the match by two wickets.

 

Rajasthan had a slow start to chase the target. The first blow to the team came in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal who managed to score 19 runs. After this, there was a 25-run partnership between Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler for the second wicket. The captain could score only 12 runs. Riyan Parag came to bat and scored 34 runs. During this, four fours and two sixes came from his bat. The match saw Rajasthan's batting line-up struggling against Kolkata's bowling attack. Dhruv Jurel scored two, Ravichandran Ashwin scored eight, Shimron Hetmay scored zero, Rovman Powell scored 26 and Trent Boult scored zero.

 

 

Butler turned the tables in the 19th over

Jos Buttler turned the match in favor of Rajasthan in the 19th over of the innings. He scored 19 runs in the last over of Harshit Rana. During this, the English batsman hit two sixes and one four. He completed his century on the first ball of the 20th over. This is his second century of IPL 2024. Earlier, Butler had led the team to victory by scoring a strong century against Bengaluru. Butler faced 60 balls in this match and remained unbeaten after scoring 107 runs. During this, nine fours and six sixes came off his bat.

 

Butler left Gayle behind

With this, Butler became the batsman with the second highest number of centuries in the IPL, surpassing Chris Gayle. Buttler has now scored seven centuries while Gayle has scored six centuries in the IPL. At the same time, Virat Kohli remains on top with eight centuries.

 

Sunil Narine scored the first century of his career

Sunil Narine performed strongly in this match. He scored the first century of his career. This is the first century of his IPL and international career. The star all-rounder scored 109 runs in 56 balls with the help of 13 fours and six sixes. He was bowled by Trent Boult in the 18th over. In this match, Rinku Singh remained unbeaten after scoring 20 runs and Ramandeep Singh remained unbeaten after scoring one run. For Rajasthan, Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Sen took two wickets each while Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal got one wicket each.
