New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS) Delhi Police Thursday filed a chargesheet against suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba men Abdul Subhan, a Pakistani national and another man for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to carry out terror attacks in the national capital.
The chargesheet was filed before Additional Sessions Judge Reetesh Singh, who posted it for Friday for consideration.
Subhan, his nephew Asahbuddin and Pakistani national Arshad Khan were named as accused in the chargesheet. They were booked for various offences dealing with criminal conspiracy and provisions under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The 42-year-old Subhan was arrested in July last year in Delhi for his involvement in planning terror strikes in various parts of the country.
The name of Subhan, a resident of Haryana's Mewat area, surfaced during interrogation of two youths - Mohd. Rashid and Mohd. Shahid - who were arrested in December 2013 from Mewat.
Police chargesheeted Rashid and Shahid in May last year.
Arshad and Asahbuddin are currently lodged in the Kolkata jail in connection with the kidnapping of shoe baron Partha Roy Burman in 2001.
Asahbuddin was arrested May 27 while Arshad was arrested Aug 13 last year.
