New Delhi: The central government has gathered to carry forward the vocal campaign from PM Narendra Modi's local. The government has also started an exercise in this regard. In this episode, investigation has started for the first time about the goods of Army and Central Police Canteen. The government is trying to sell only local goods in both places.
According to the Times of India report, the government has issued a letter to the canteen store department and the companies supplying goods in the central police canteen. The letter asks whether the goods sold by your company in the canteen are manufactured in India?
Hindustan Unilever, one of the companies supplying in the canteen, told the newspaper that yes we have got some questions from the government, we will answer that. Our company makes a complete Make in India product.
Another company Nestle has also confirmed the question being asked. Nestle India CMD Suresh Narayan told that he is fully together in PM's Make in India campaign. He said that 99.7 percent of the company's employees are Indians.
Earlier in a statement, the government made the sale of locally manufactured products mandatory in all canteens and shops of the Central Armed Police Forces. They will have to buy this product only through Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
KVIC said, "This step will benefit farmers, unemployed youth and millions associated with cottage and rural industries." The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order in this regard on 15 May 2020. This order will come into effect from 1 June 2020.
