Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned Russian soldiers to flee southern Ukraine if they are in love, as the Kyiv army intensifies attacks to recapture it. At the same time, Russia has said that it is responding to these attacks, in which many Kyiv soldiers have been killed. Ukraine said on Monday that its army has launched its first attack on a Russian supply line in the south after a long time, particularly shelling across the strategically important Dnipro River.

Zelensky said it was a good opportunity for the Russian army to go home. He said the Ukrainian army was recapturing its cities. Oleksiy Aristavich, the senior adviser to the Ukrainian president, said Russian defenses in the Kherasan region were breached in a matter of hours. Responding to this, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that Russia was moving forward to achieve its goals as planned.
