The lockdown will be held in the country's capital Delhi from 10 am tonight to 5 am on April 26. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced it after a meeting with Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.
Kejriwal said, "The fourth wave has come to Delhi. Eight and a half thousand cases were coming daily in the third wave. The health system was paralyzed in six thousand cases in many major cities of the world. Now, in the fourth wave, 25 thousand cases are coming to Delhi every day, so our health system is under stress. It has reached its limit. If drastic steps are not taken after this, the system will collapse. Oxygen ran out in a hospital yesterday. There was a big accident left. "
Now it will be difficult to handle if the patient grows: Kejriwal
He said, "These issues were discussed in the meeting with the Lieutenant Governor. Delhi's health system is no longer able to handle large amounts of patients. If the lockdown is not implemented now, Delhi will be in a bad state. The lockdown is being imposed for 6 days from 10 am tonight to 5 am next Monday. Essential services will continue. Food and drink will continue. Weddings can be held with 50 people. Separate passes will be issued for this. I request the migrant laborers that this is a small lockdown. Do not leave Delhi and go. The entire time will be spent commuting. Hopefully, this lockdown will be short. The government will take care of you. I am you, trust me. "
