He has said, "The attacks on Mahua Moitra have taken me by surprise. These attacks are happening because of what every Hindu knows. Hindus know that the way of worship varies from place to place in the country. Only that devotee knows what one offers to the Goddess. He further said, we have reached such a situation, that if we say something about someone on a public platform, then someone's sentiment will be hurt. However, certainly, Mahua did not say so out of a sense of humiliation. He further said I appeal to everyone to keep the atmosphere cool.
