The Commissionerate Police has implemented traffic diversions in view of the Magh Mela and the return flow of pilgrims. Arrangements similar to those for the Maha Kumbh will be in place on the main bathing dates. Holding areas have been created in five police station areas to manage increased traffic. Vehicles will be stopped for up to 12 hours in Mirzamurad, Rajatalab, Rohania, Ramnagar, and Lanka. The Maidagin-Chowk-Godowlia area will be a no-vehicle zone. Autos and e-rickshaws will operate on six routes within the city.
Vehicles from outside the city will be stopped on the highway, and vehicles will only be allowed to park in designated parking areas. Special attention has been given to Dashashwamedh Ghat, Assi Ghat, and other ghats within the city. ADCP Traffic Anshuman Mishra said that four-wheelers will also be banned on the Rajghat bridge if the crowd increases. Private buses and four-wheelers going to the Magh Mela from Ghazipur and Azamgarh will use the Ring Road; entry into the city will be restricted.
Vehicles going to the Magh Mela from Bihar and Chandauli will be routed via NH-19, Vishwasundari Bridge, Akhri, and Mohansarai. According to the police, no vehicles of any kind will be allowed from Sonarpura Tirahe towards Godowlia Chowk. These vehicles will be diverted towards Broadway Tirahe. Similarly, no vehicles of any kind will be allowed from Agarwal Tirahe towards Assi.
Major Restrictions/Diversions
No vehicles of any kind will be allowed from Golgadda towards Visheshwarganj. These vehicles will be made to take a U-turn and diverted towards Lakadmandi. Only vehicles with passes will be allowed towards Namo Ghat at specified times.
No vehicles of any kind will be allowed from Lakadmandi Tirahe towards Golgadda and Bhadau Chungi. These vehicles will be diverted from there and sent towards their destination via the Cantt Overbridge. Only vehicles with passes will be allowed towards Namo Ghat at specified times. All types of vehicles coming from Machhodari towards Visheshwarganj intersection will not be allowed to proceed beyond Visheshwarganj intersection. These vehicles will be diverted towards Golgadda.
No vehicles of any kind will be allowed to go from Maidagin Chowk towards Godaulia via Thana Chowk. Four-wheelers, three-wheelers, and cycle rickshaws will be diverted towards Kabirchaura and Visheshwarganj intersection. Four-wheelers will be parked in the Town Hall parking lot at Maidagin.
4 lakh people expected on Makar Sankranti
According to the police, three to four lakh people are expected to visit the city between January 14 and 16 for Makar Sankranti. 2 lakh people are expected on Mauni Amavasya on January 18. Two lakh people are also expected on Basant Panchami on January 23. Five lakh people may visit on Maghi Purnima on February 2 and 3. While five lakh people may visit on Mahashivratri on February 16 and 17.
Designated routes for auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws
Route 1: Golgadda intersection to Lakadmandi, Sampurnanand to Lahurabir to Kabirchaura, Maidagin, Visheshwarganj to Golgadda to Chaukaghat.
Route 2: Lahurabir to Jaisingh Chowk to Maldahiya to Sigra, Rath Yatra, Mahmoorganj to Manduadih to Bhikharipur, then Sundarpur Malviya Chowk to Lanka.
Route 3: Lanka to Nariya, Sundarpur, Bhikharipur Bareka to Manduadih to Lahartara, then Cantt Railway Station (return).
Route 4: Lanka to Nariya, Sundarpur, Bhikharipur Bareka to Manduadih to Lahartara, Chandpur.
Route 5: Andhrapul to Nadesar, then Mint House, Ambedkar Chowk to JP Mehta to Daitravir, then Bhojubir to Gilat Bazar. Route 6: From Chaukaghat via Tadikana, Makbool Alam Road, Khajuri Tiraha to Pandeypur.

No vehicles of any kind will be allowed to proceed towards Rajghat from the Sujabad police post. These vehicles will be diverted towards Ramnagar and parked in the Lanka Maidan parking area in Ramnagar.
No vehicles of any kind will be allowed to proceed towards Bhaisasur Ghat from Bhadau Chungi. These vehicles will be parked in the Railway Colony ground.
Only vehicles with passes will be allowed towards Namo Ghat at the designated times.

No vehicles of any kind will be allowed to proceed towards Bhadau Chungi beyond the Jalalipura overbridge slope. These vehicles will be sent towards Ashapur via the Kazzakpura overbridge. Only vehicles with passes will be allowed towards Namo Ghat at the designated times.
No vehicles of any kind will be allowed to come towards Visheshwarganj from Golgadda. These vehicles will be diverted towards Lakadmandi after taking a U-turn. Only vehicles with passes will be allowed towards Namo Ghat at the designated times.
No vehicles of any kind will be allowed to proceed towards Golgadda and Bhadau Chungi from Lakadmandi Tiraha. These vehicles will be diverted from there and will proceed towards their destination via the Cantt overbridge. Only vehicles with passes will be allowed towards Namo Ghat at the designated times.
All types of vehicles coming from the Machhodari side towards Visheshwarganj Tiraha will not be allowed to proceed further from Visheshwarganj Tiraha. These vehicles will be diverted towards Golgadda.
