Maha Kumbh: PM Modi keeps an eye on the situation of Maha Kumbh, and spoke to Yogi three times in two hours; Instructions for all possible help

There is a possibility of 10 crore more people bathing in Ganga on Mauni Amavasya today in Prayagraj Mahakumbh. People started arriving in large numbers in the last one or two days. Due to Mauni Amavasya, the fair area is packed with devotees. People are continuously reaching Sangam. Meanwhile, there was news of a stampede late at night. The government and administration are trying to keep the situation under control.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is constantly monitoring the situation of Mahakumbh and is in constant touch with the state government. He has spoken to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath three times so far. He has given guidelines for normalizing the situation and relief work.

 

Stampede-like situation after the influx of devotees

 

Earlier, many people were reported to have been injured due to a stampede-like situation after the influx of lakhs of devotees on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya in the Mahakumbh fair on Wednesday early morning. After the incident, all the Akharas decided not to take Amrit's bath. However, now there is news that the Akharas will go for bathing when the situation becomes normal. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi talked to Chief Minister Yogi about the situation of Kumbh Mela.

Official sources said that Prime Minister Modi talked to Yogi about the situation in Kumbh Mela, reviewed the developments, and asked for immediate relief measures. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the devotees on 'X' that those who are near the ghat of Maa Ganga, should bathe there and not try to go towards Sangam Nose.

Earlier, Special Executive Officer for the fair Akanksha Rana told reporters that a stampede-like situation arose due to the breaking of the barrier at Sangam Nose, in which some people were injured and are still undergoing treatment. He said that the condition of no one is critical. The injured have been admitted to the hospital set up in the fair area, where relatives of many injured have also reached.

 

4.83 crore people took a bath till 8 pm on Tuesday

 

In the Kumbh area, the sirens of ambulances and police vehicles were heard in the early hours amid the sounds of mantras and shlokas from loudspeakers. The incident is reported to have taken place around 2 am. A day before Mauni Amavasya, 4.83 crore people took a dip in the Sangam till 8 pm on Tuesday, while before this 3.5 crore people took a dip in the Sangam on Makar Sankranti and 1.7 crore people took a dip in the Sangam on Paush Purnima.
