Stampede-like situation after the influx of devotees
Earlier, many people were reported to have been injured due to a stampede-like situation after the influx of lakhs of devotees on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya in the Mahakumbh fair on Wednesday early morning. After the incident, all the Akharas decided not to take Amrit's bath. However, now there is news that the Akharas will go for bathing when the situation becomes normal. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi talked to Chief Minister Yogi about the situation of Kumbh Mela.

He said that the condition of no one is critical. The injured have been admitted to the hospital set up in the fair area, where relatives of many injured have also reached.
4.83 crore people took a bath till 8 pm on Tuesday
In the Kumbh area, the sirens of ambulances and police vehicles were heard in the early hours amid the sounds of mantras and shlokas from loudspeakers. The incident is reported to have taken place around 2 am. A day before Mauni Amavasya, 4.83 crore people took a dip in the Sangam till 8 pm on Tuesday, while before this 3.5 crore people took a dip in the Sangam on Makar Sankranti and 1.7 crore people took a dip in the Sangam on Paush Purnima.
