Devotees are walking several kilometers on foot. A situation of Mahajam is being seen in Maha Kumbh before Magh Purnima.
Where are the traffic jams in Prayagraj
Devotees are facing a lot of difficulty in reaching Prayagraj. For information, let us tell you that devotees are coming to Prayagraj from all sides. There is a jam at many places in Phaphamau, Jhunsi, Naini, Varanasi-Prayagraj Road i.e. GT Road (Sulem Sarai). The speed of vehicles on the roads has stopped. On the other hand, the passengers walking on the roads are reaching the ghats in hours.

After Vasant Panchami, on Saturday, for the fifth consecutive day, the citizens and devotees kept groaning due to severe traffic jams. There were long queues of vehicles from the city to the district entry points. When the main road got choked, the streets in the cities also got jammed. In the rural areas adjoining the border, vehicles were lined up one after the other for 10-10 km from morning till night.

Pitambar Shukla, who had come from Faizabad, was found on the Nagvasuki road around 10 am. He said that he had left Faizabad at 5 pm on Saturday. It took 17 hours to cover a journey of five hours. There is a huge traffic jam here too and it is not known how much more time it will take to reach Sangam. Similarly, Akhileshwar Prasad, who was found near Geeta Niketan Sohbatiabagh, said that he had come from Kanpur. He had left Kanpur on Saturday afternoon. It took one hour to reach Geeta Niketan from Balsan. Similarly, Ajay Kumar, who had come from Noida, left at 6 am on Saturday and it took him 6 am on Sunday to reach his house in Jhunsi. The condition of the city was such that not only all the roads leading to the fair were choked, but pedestrians and citizens were seen struggling with heavy traffic jams in all the areas of the old city. This situation persisted from morning to late night.
One km journey took two to three hours, vehicles caught fire.
On Sunday, people took two to three hours to cover a distance of one km. Within 12 hours, three vehicles burned due to overheating. These incidents took place at different places in the Bela Kachhar area on the Lucknow route. Fire personnel even broke the glass of a vehicle to take out the car riders. During this, two people got badly burnt.
Queues up to five km
Devotees kept groaning throughout the day due to traffic jams on all seven major routes located on the district border. What was the situation at which place. It took more than four hours to cover the 23 km journey from Shringverpur Dham to Malak Harhar on Lucknow-Prayagraj highway. On this, the situation became more serious due to the crowd of vehicles coming from Kanpur to Kokhraj Handia bypass along with Lucknow Highway gathering at the no entry point.

Similarly, there was a jam situation from Karchana on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur Highway. This situation happened due to the diversion of vehicles coming from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, etc. towards Karchana. Vehicles kept crawling for 10-10 km on Varanasi, Jaunpuri, Kanpur, Rewa-Banda, and Ayodhya-Pratapgarh routes from morning to night.

The number of devotees has increased after Vasant Panchami. Due to that, all the efforts being made regarding traffic are proving to be insufficient. Chaukhandi resident advocate Shantanu Singh says that the problem of traffic on the main bathing festivals could be understood. There is a jam in the same way on normal days as well.
