Mahakumbh Fire: More than 250 tents including Geeta Press Cottage burnt to ashes in Maha Kumbh, how did such a terrible fire break out? This big reason came to light.

A fire broke out in a camp in the Maha Kumbh (Maha Kumbh Fire) fair on Sunday evening. The flames of the fire that erupted due to the cylinder explosion engulfed the other camp due to strong wind. A stampede-like situation arose. Police, fire brigade, SDRF, NDRF somehow controlled the fire, but by then more than 250 tents were burnt to ashes.

 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also in the fair area to review the preparations for the Mauni Amavasya bathing festival. He also reached the accident site and gave the necessary instructions to the officials. It is being said that two persons got burnt while trying to extinguish the fire, but there has been no official confirmation.

 

CM Yogi took cognizance of the matter.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took information about the accident from the Chief Minister. The loss of goods worth crores of rupees is estimated due to the fire. All departments including police, and fire brigade have been alerted in the entire fair area. There is a joint camp of Geeta Press Gorakhpur and Akhil Bharatiya Sangh Karpatra Dham Varanasi on Mori Marg in Sector 19 of the Maha Kumbh Mela area.

Here, many devotees were staying by making huts of reeds and putting up tents. This area is under the Shastri Bridge. At around four in the evening, a fire broke out in the tent of a person named Pawan Tripathi due to gas leakage. There was chaos as soon as the cylinder exploded. People started running here and there. In a short time, the police, fire brigade, SDRF, and NDRF teams started extinguishing the fire.

 

ADG Bhanu Bhaskar, Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, Mahakumbh DIG Vaibhav Krishna, and SSP Rajesh Dwivedi also arrived with the rescue team. Many fire brigade teams were engaged in extinguishing the fire. After about half an hour to 45 minutes of effort, the fire was somehow controlled, but by then more than two hundred and fifty tents had been burnt. More than four gas cylinders have also burst.

Police officials say that preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire broke out due to gas leakage. There has been no loss of life. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the accident site along with Water Power Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Urban Development Minister AK Sharma. Chief Minister Yogi has directed to provide help at every level to the devotees affected by the fire.

 

Mahakumbh DIG Vaibhav Krishna said that the fire was caused by a cylinder explosion, which was soon brought under control. The damage caused by the fire is being assessed. The fire brigade team is conducting a detailed investigation of the incident.
