Earlier, on Wednesday, the first list of 38 candidates was released for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. In which it was informed that Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will contest from Baramati, Chhagan Bhujbal from Yeola and Dilip Walse Patil will contest from Ambegaon.
Shiv Sena has released a list of 45 candidates.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar has 40 MLAs. Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena has 18 MLAs. 14 independent MLAs have also supported the NDA government. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government also has the support of five other small parties.
How strong is the opposition camp in Maharashtra
Apart from this, the opposition camp (Maha Vikas Aghadi - MVA) has a total of 71 MLAs. Congress is the largest party in the opposition with 37 MLAs. Apart from this, former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena has 16 MLAs. Senior politician Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) has 12 MLAs. Samajwadi Party has two, CPIM and PWPI have one MLA each. Two MLAs of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) are also in the opposition camp. 15 assembly seats are vacant.
