Washington. Liquor businessman Vijay Mallya has asked the government to accept the proposal to repay 100 percent debt and close the case against him. Vijay Mallya said in a tweet that congratulations to the government for the Covid 19 relief package. They can print as much currency as they want but should accept the offer of a small contributor like me who wants to return 100% of the loans of public sector banks. Why is it being ignorant? Please take my money unconditionally and close the case.

 

Mallya has been declared a fugitive in India. He has been in the UK since March 2016. He was detained by Scotland Yard in the UK on 18 April 2017. He has been out on bail since then. The UK Home Department has approved his extradition on the demand of Indian investigative agencies.

 

Vijay Mallya got a shock from the High Court

In April last month, a two-member bench of Lord Justice Stephen Irwin and Justice Elizabeth Laing at the Royal Court of Justice in London dismissed the petition filed against extradition to India. In the money laundering case, Vijay Mallya filed a petition in the High Court against extradition to India. In February this year, 64-year-old Mallya filed this petition. Vijay Mallya is wanted for financial offenses worth Rs 9,000 crore borrowed by Mallya's company Kingfisher Airlines from several banks in India.

 

Earlier too, Mallya had said in his tweet on March 31, 'I have constantly offered banks to repay their full money. Neither the banks have been willing to take the money nor the ED to leave the properties. Hopefully! At this time, the Finance Minister would listen to me.
