It said that about 106 teams of NDRF were deployed in Bengal and 46 teams in Odisha. During this time more than 1000 people were saved and 2500 poles and trees were removed. Because of these roads were blocked. It was informed at the meeting that telecom and electricity services have been restored in most areas. In the meeting, the PM said that agencies in the center and states played an effective and active role in dealing with the challenges of the storm. He also directed the agencies to restore normal life in the affected areas as soon as possible.
More than 21 lakh people affected in both states
More than 21 lakh people have been affected by the storm in Bengal and Odisha. 4 people died due to rain and the breakdown of homes. Of these, 3 are from Odisha and one from Bengal. From the places of Digha, Shankarpur, Mandaramani South 24 Parganas district of East Medinipur district, Bakkhali, Sandeshkhali, Sagar, Fraserganj, Sundarbans, etc., the houses of 3 lakh people were destroyed in this storm. 134 dams have been broken, which are being repaired.
