However, she will go to Kalaikunda to hand over the documents of the damage caused by the storm to Modi.

 

Review meeting with CM of Odisha

Prime Minister Modi is visiting Bengal and Odisha. They are conducting an aerial survey of the storm-affected areas. Earlier, he reached Odisha. Where he held a review meeting with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the impact of YAS. High officials of the states were also present in this meeting.

 

The first meeting will be held after becoming CM

Modi will also hold a review meeting in Bengal. Before this, Mamta will hand over the loss documents to him. This will be his first meeting with PM Modi after Mamta became the Chief Minister. Here Governor Jagdeep Dhankar will arrive at Kalai Kunda Air Force Station to receive Modi.

 

Aerial survey of Odisha, now Modi will reach Bengal

PM Modi conducted an aerial survey of Balasore and Bhadrak in Odisha. After reaching Bengal, he will also conduct an aerial survey of the badly affected East Medinipur. It is in these districts that the hurricane has caused the most devastation. Here, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that around 5 am, the impact of the storm has reduced in Bihar and the adjoining Jharkhand region.

 

Instructions to restore normal life as soon as possible

Earlier on Thursday, the Prime Minister held a review meeting regarding the impact of the storm. Releasing the official press release said that several aspects were discussed in the meeting. It said that about 106 teams of NDRF were deployed in Bengal and 46 teams in Odisha. During this time more than 1000 people were saved and 2500 poles and trees were removed. Because of these roads were blocked. It was informed at the meeting that telecom and electricity services have been restored in most areas. In the meeting, the PM said that agencies in the center and states played an effective and active role in dealing with the challenges of the storm. He also directed the agencies to restore normal life in the affected areas as soon as possible.

 

More than 21 lakh people affected in both states

More than 21 lakh people have been affected by the storm in Bengal and Odisha. 4 people died due to rain and the breakdown of homes. Of these, 3 are from Odisha and one from Bengal. From the places of Digha, Shankarpur, Mandaramani South 24 Parganas district of East Medinipur district, Bakkhali, Sandeshkhali, Sagar, Fraserganj, Sundarbans, etc., the houses of 3 lakh people were destroyed in this storm. 134 dams have been broken, which are being repaired.

On Thursday afternoon, Tahasen Sheikh and Saeedul Islam died due to lightning in Hariharpara in Murshidabad, Bengal. 5 people were injured in the accident.

 

In Bengal, rainwater has been filled in the areas of Sagar, Sundarbans, Fraserganj, Sandesh Khali, Bakkhali, etc. in the South 24 Parganas district.

 

On the Digha beach, the sea waves are in full swing, rising from the strong waves of the sea, water is constantly entering the VIP areas amidst heavy rains and strong winds.

 

Except for Rourkela Airport in Odisha, flights have started flying at all the other airports.

 

The Airport Authority of India has said that the Ranchi airport will not be affected much by the storm. However, Darbhanga and Patna airports have been kept on alert.
