Police and central security forces destroyed 12 bunkers allegedly built by militants in different districts of violence-hit Manipur in the last 24 hours. The police gave this information on Sunday.
A statement issued by the Manipur Police said the state police and central forces carried out search operations in Tamenglong, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, and Kakching districts and destroyed 12 bunkers both in the hills and in the valley.
Manipur Police said that the situation is tense but under control at some places, there have been some sporadic incidents but the situation is normal in most of the districts of the state.
135 people arrested so far
They have arrested 135 people in connection with curfew violations, theft in abandoned houses, cases of arson, etc., the statement said.
"A total of 1100 arms, 13702 ammunition, and 250 bombs of different types have been recovered so far. Flag marches, area domination, cordon, and search operations are going on in different parts of the state," the statement said.
Police appealed to the general public
Police have appealed to the general public to extend all possible help in bringing back normalcy in the state by dialing 9233522822 of the central control room to report any rumors, as well as to return arms, ammunition, and explosives to the police or security forces Submit it immediately.
