The CBI will present Manish Sisodia, arrested in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court today i.e. on March 6. From here he can be sent to judicial custody. On March 4, the court extended Sisodia's CBI remand for two days (March 6), which is being completed today. However, the CBI sought his custody from the court for three days.
The court will pronounce its verdict on Sisodia's bail plea on March 10 at 2 pm. He was arrested by the CBI on 26 February. He appeared in the court on February 27, from where Sisodia was sent on CBI remand for 5 days.
During the last hearing, these arguments were given in court...
CBI- Sisodia's remand should be extended by three days.
Court - Why? What is left now?
CBI- Manish Sisodia is being questioned daily till 8 pm, but he is not cooperating in the investigation. Now many questions have to be answered by him, apart from this he has to be confronted with some witnesses of the case.
Sisodia's lawyer Dayan Krishnan - Remand should not be given. CBI cannot ask for remand on the ground that we are not cooperating in the investigation. For the first time, it was enough to give remand on this basis, now if it is given then it will be excessive.
Court- If you think that giving remand was wrong then that order should have been challenged in the High Court.
Sisodia's second lawyer Mohit Mathur - After three days of remand, some new facts should have come in the remand application, but even today the investigating agency is giving the same argument, which was given on the first day.
Court- You have any problem in custody.
Sisodia- I don't have any problem physically. Food is also available on time, but the officials ask me the same question again and again. Due to this, I am feeling mental harassment. I appeal to the court to save me from this torture.
Court - Pay attention to the problem of CBI Manish Sisodia.
Sisodia's argument – fully cooperated in the inquiry
On March 3, Sisodia filed a bail application in the lower court. In this petition, he wrote that he has cooperated in the CBI inquiry. They have come whenever they have been called. He argued that there is no valid reason to keep him in custody now, as all the recovery has been done by the CBI.
Kejriwal said - got 8 crore rupees from the BJP leader's son, caught Sisodia
On March 4, CM Kejriwal of Delhi targeted Davanagere, Karnataka for increasing the custody of Sisodia. Kejriwal said that the son of a BJP leader was caught with Rs 8 crore, but he was not arrested. Maybe BJP will give him Padma Bhushan next year. 8 crore rupees were found in his house and arrested Manish Sisodia. Nothing was found during the raid at Manish Sisodia's house.
Sisodia was arrested on 26 February
CBI arrested Sisodia on February 26 after 8 hours of questioning. He was produced in court on 27 February. The court had given 5 days of custody of Sisodia to CBI. On the morning of 28 February, Congress leader and senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi filed a petition in the Supreme Court against Sisodia's arrest.
He appealed to the court to hear the matter immediately, which was accepted by the court. However, during the hearing on February 28, a bench of CJI Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha dismissed the petition and said that you go to the High Court first. What does it mean to come directly to us? We cannot promote a wrong tradition.
