Metro pillar collapse: Many officials suspended in connection with the collapse of the under-construction Metro pillar in Bengaluru

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Wednesday suspended the Deputy Chief Engineer, Executive Engineer, and Site Engineer in connection with the death of two people when an under-construction Metro pillar collapsed. BMRCL has also requested the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to independently investigate the matter and provide a report. A case has been registered against the unknown in this matter.

 

Meanwhile, while narrating the incident, Lohit, the husband of the deceased woman, said that we were going somewhere in a two-wheeler. I was going to drop them somewhere. But, this incident happened suddenly. As I looked back, my wife and child had fallen. There was nothing I could do. Later both died.

 

Let us tell you that a horrific accident took place on Tuesday in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. A woman and her daughter were killed when an under-construction Metro pillar fell on the Outer Ring Road here. It is said that an under-construction metro pillar collapsed near the Nagawara area of Bengaluru on Tuesday morning. This affected the traffic in the area. People are trying to remove the fallen pole so that the traffic can be smooth. According to media reports, both the woman and her daughter were traveling on the bike. Meanwhile, a pillar fell on them on the Outer Ring Road, killing both of them.
