World Cup 2023: Pakistan announced a 15-member team, know who got the chance and who was out?

Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday announced Pakistan's 15-member squad for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Fast bowler Naseem Shah was out of the World Cup due to injury. Hasan Ali was included as his replacement.

 

Babar Azam will lead Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup. Pakistan has a good mix of experience and youth in its team. If we talk about batsmen, apart from Babar Azam, there are Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Salman Agha. Apart from this, among the youth are Mohammad Harris and Saud Shakeel.

 

good spin options

Pakistan has two prominent spin all-rounders Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz. Salman Agha and Iftikhar Ahmed also help in spinning. Usama Mir is another leg-spin option that Pakistan has given a chance for the World Cup.

 

Fast bowling department strong

Pakistan's fast bowling department will be led by left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi. He will get the support of Harris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim, and Hasan Ali. Let us remind you that Naseem Shah was injured in the Super-4 match of the Asia Cup against India. He will remain away from cricket action for the next few months.

 

Pakistan's World Cup 2023 squad is as follows:

Babar Azam (captain), Imam ul Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafiq, Salman Agha, Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Harris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Wasim Jr. and Usama Mir.

 

Pakistan's first match

Pakistan recently participated in the Asia Cup, but could not make it to the finals. Pakistan team will play two practice matches in the World Cup. Babar Azam-led Pakistan will face New Zealand and Australia in the practice matches. After this, Pakistan will start its campaign against the Netherlands in Hyderabad on 6 October.
