New Delhi, March 17 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed "deep concern" over the gang-rape of a 71-year-old nun in West Bengal's Nadia district and the vandalisation of a church in Hisar, Haryana, said an official statement.
"The prime minister is deeply concerned about the incidents in Hisar, Haryana and Nadia, West Bengal," a post on Modi's official twitter account said.
It further said the Prime Minister's Office "has asked for immediate report on facts and action taken regarding the incidents..."
On Sunday, an under construction church in Kaimri village in Hisar district of Haryana was vandalised by miscreants and the idol of Hindu god Hanuman was placed inside the premises.
In an another incident last week, a nun was allegedly gang-raped by dacoits in West Bengal.
