More than 60 IndiGo flights were cancelled today, and the government says it will reduce flights.

After a week of flight cancellations, IndiGo's operations are now back on track. Most of IndiGo Airlines' aircraft are flying again. However, IndiGo has announced the cancellation of more than 60 flights for the eighth consecutive day.

 

 

According to information on IndiGo's website, a total of 67 IndiGo flights have been canceled today (December 9). These include flights to and from airports such as Chennai, Bengaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram. Following IndiGo's negligence, the government has also taken action.

 

 

Over 4500 flights canceled in 7 days

In the last 7 days, IndiGo canceled more than 4500 flights. The government says that it will now reduce IndiGo's flight schedule and allocate some slots to other airlines.

 

 

Several IndiGo flights have also been canceled today in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. In Tamil Nadu, 41 IndiGo flights have been canceled. At Bengaluru airport in Karnataka, IndiGo has canceled 58 arriving and 63 departing flights.

 

 

The government issues a warning

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu warned IndiGo in Parliament yesterday, stating that an investigation has been launched. The government will take such strict action that it will set an example for all airlines in the future.

 

 

Naidu also spoke about starting new airlines in the country. He said that the country needs at least 5 major airlines, and this is the right time to start new airlines. IndiGo is currently operating more than 2200 flights in the country, which will be reduced.

 

 

₹827 crore refunded

More than 1800 IndiGo flights have been restored. IndiGo says that the network is fully operational and 90 percent of flights are running on time. The airline has refunded ₹827 crore to passengers. Additionally, more than 4500 pieces of luggage have been returned to the passengers.
