Mukhtar Ansari seen on wheelchair, accused of framing Punjab government during his appearance in Mohali court

Bahubali MLA Mukhtar Ansari was presented in Mohali court on Wednesday. Mukhtar Ansari was presented in court in a wheelchair. During this, a new maneuver of Mukhtar also appeared. Till now, the Punjab Police, which was accused of saving Mukhtar, accused Mukhtar of implicating him.

 

After presenting in the Mohali court, Mukhtar Ansari was given copies of the charge sheet of the case lodged in Mohali. The next hearing of the case will be on April 12. On leaving the court, Mukhtar said that the Punjab government was framing it. False cases were filed against him. After production in the court, Mukhtar was again sent to Ropar Jail.

 

The Supreme Court ruled on March 26 on the trial of UP Bahubali leader Mukhtar Ansari and his custody transfer petition. The court said that Ansari will have to shift to Uttar Pradesh jail within two weeks. The court was not satisfied with the pleas of the Punjab government.

 

Punjab jail minister awaits order

On the question of sending UP, the Jail Minister of Punjab said that the UP Police should come and take him by taking a court order. Jail Minister Sukhwinder Singh Randhawa said that so far no court order has been received near the jail regarding Mukhtar Ansari. Whichever order will come, Mukhtar will be handover accordingly. On the question of reaching the Punjab Police, Randhawa said that Mukhtar Ansari is in jail. The police are not in custody. The police department is different. Our department is a prison. If the order comes to the jail, then we will work accordingly. If the police bring the order to us, then we will hand it over.

 

Custody needed in 14 criminal cases in UP

The UP government needs Ansari's custody for 14 criminal cases. Ansari has been in Punjab jail since January 2019. There he was named in an extortion case. The UP government had filed a petition in the Supreme Court, saying that due to Ansari's absence, the trials in UP are not being heard.

 

On the petition of the UP government, the Punjab government had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court, refusing to give Ansari custody of the UP government. The Punjab government had cited the reason for Ansari's health. The affidavit filed through the jail superintendent said that Ansari is reportedly suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, back pain, and skin allergies.
