Since the February 24 attack on Ukraine by Russian military forces, 14 million people in Ukraine have been forced to leave their homes. Of these, more than 63 lakh people have been displaced within the borders of the country. The head of the UN refugee agency, Filippo Grandi, issued a warning saying that winter will soon be ahead of us and it can prove to be a difficult time.

He said the winters in Ukraine are harsh, which can be very difficult for the refugees. We have to make every effort so that the cold can be prevented from becoming a challenge for the people who are already suffering in their life. The UN refugee agency warned that people are struggling to rebuild their damaged homes, reunite with their families and recover from the trauma of months of the war.

Their source of employment and income is gone, while the prices of essential commodities are rising, fuel and they need immediate financial assistance. The High Commissioner for Refugees Affairs said that despite the difficult challenges, those affected are recovering from the crisis and rebuilding their damaged buildings.

The major water crisis in Ukraine's capital Kyiv

It is reported that after the power crisis, there is a big water crisis in Ukraine's capital Kyiv. About 80 percent of the area there does not have drinking water. Ukraine claimed that a day earlier, Russia again indiscriminately fired missiles at Kyiv. Due to this, there has been heavy damage to the power plant and hydropower plant. And because of this, more than half of Kyiv does not have drinking water.
