Nasal vaccine will not be able to be taken after booster: No fourth dose in CoWIN, 4-5 vaccine takers in other countries are also getting infected

The nasal vaccine cannot be administered in the country to people who have received a booster dose. Dr. NK Arora, Chief of India's Vaccine Task Force said this in an interview given to NDTV. He said that this vaccine is a booster dose in itself. Those who have already got this dose should not take it.

The Center approved the world's first nasal corona vaccine on 23 December. Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech, which manufactures Covaxin, has developed it in collaboration with the Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM).

No fourth dose option in Cowin platform

Dr. Arora told that there will be no fourth dose option in the Cowin platform. If a person thinks that he has already taken the booster dose and now gets the nasal vaccine, then he will not get this option.

Question- Can a booster dose be taken after the nasal vaccine?

Answer- Dr. Arora said that nothing can be said on this at the moment because no proper research has been done on whether the body will need a booster after taking the nasal vaccine. The doctor also said that in many countries people have taken four or five doses of the vaccine, yet they are getting corona.

Corona's nasal vaccine will cost Rs 325

The central government has fixed the price of the nasal vaccine. This vaccine of Bharat Biotech can be installed in government hospitals for Rs.325. Whereas in private hospitals, Rs 800 will have to be paid for this. This vaccine will be available from the last week of January. The government has also said that those who have taken three doses do not need additional doses. Only 3 doses are enough.

How is the nasal vaccine different from existing vaccines?

At present, two doses of the vaccine being used in India are being given. The vaccinated person is considered safe 14 days after the second dose. In such a situation, the nasal vaccine starts showing its effect within 14 days.

Effective nasal dosage will not only protect against the corona virus but will also prevent the spread of the disease. Even mild symptoms will not be seen in the patient. The virus will also not be able to harm other parts of the body.

This is a single-dose vaccine, due to which tracking is easy. Its side effects are also less as compared to intramuscular vaccines. Another big advantage of this is that there will be less waste of needles and syringes.

The nasal vaccine will block infection-transmission

This nasal vaccine has been named iNCOVACC. Earlier it was named BBV154. Its special thing is that it blocks both infection and transmission of corona as soon as it enters the body. This vaccine does not require injection, so there is no risk of injury. Also, healthcare workers will not need special training.

Can be given as primary and booster dose

The intranasal vaccine will be given as a booster dose to those taking vaccines like Covaxin and Covishield. However, it can also be used as a primary vaccine. Bharat Biotech's Managing Director and Chairman Dr. Krishna Ella had said some time ago that like polio, 4 drops of this vaccine is also enough. Two drops will be put in both nostrils.
