Naib Singh Saini, who became the hero of BJP's victory in Haryana, will once again become the Chief Minister of Haryana. With the swearing-in on Thursday, he will become the eighth leader of Haryana who has held the post of Chief Minister two or more times.
Before this, Bansi Lal, Banarasi Das Gupta, Devi Lal, Bhajan Lal, Om Prakash Chautala, Bhupendra Singh Hooda, and Manohar Lal have become Chief Ministers two or more times.
Naib Saini has a law degree
Naib Singh Saini, a resident of Mirzapur Mazra village of Ambala, has a law degree from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Naib Singh's journey with the BJP started as a computer operator.
In 1996-97, Manohar Lal gave him the responsibility of handling the computer in the BJP office in Rohtak. This computer was given to Manohar Lal by Narendra Modi. In view of his interest in party work and his staying with Manohar Lal all day, Nayab Saini was appointed as the General Secretary of Ambala Yuva Morcha in 2002.
Lost the first election in 2009
Seeing his dedication to party work, he was given the post of Yuva Morcha President in 2005. In 2009, Saini contested the assembly elections from Narayangarh but lost to Congress candidate Ramkishan. His Rajyoga started only after the first defeat. In 2014, he again contested from the Narayangarh constituency. Two years after winning the election, the party made him a Minister of State.
Became MP in 2019
Seeing Saini's work and connection with the people, the BJP made him a candidate for the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency in 2019. Saini won by about three lakh votes. Seeing his humility and gentle image, the party gave him a big responsibility in 2023 and appointed him as the state president of the party.
Just six months after this, the BJP removed Manohar Lal and appointed him as CM. Manohar Lal has played an important role in Nayab Saini's success in politics. Saini considers him his political guru.
The family includes a mother, wife, and two children.
Nayab Saini's family includes 70-year-old mother Kulwant Kaur, wife Suman Saini, son Aniket and daughter Vanshika. The son is studying law, while the daughter is in class 12. Nayab Saini was married in Sain Majra village of Narayangarh in the year 2000.
His wife Suman Saini is also active in politics. In 2022, he contested the Zilla Parishad elections on a BJP ticket but faced defeat. She is currently the president of the BJP Mahila Morcha. Saini's brother Chandan lives in the village of Mirzapur Majra.
He says that his family originally belonged to the village Mangoli Jatan in Kurukshetra, but in the year 1960 the family settled in Mirzapur Majra. Father Teluram Saini participated in the war against China in 1962 and Pakistan in 1971. He retired as a Havildar from Pathankot in 2005. He died of a heart attack this year.
