The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big decision on Friday amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. Given the tension, the BCCI has postponed the IPL 2025 season indefinitely. Earlier, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had told on Thursday night that the 18th season of IPL will continue in the current situation, but now the board has decided to postpone it.
Earlier, the match played between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in Dharamsala was canceled. The match was stopped due to a fault in the floodlights and the spectators and players were taken out of the field. The BCCI had told that the match has been canceled due to technical fault in Dharamsala. However, there was doubt about IPL 2025 since Thursday.

The BCCI official was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, "It does not look good that cricket is going on when the country is at war." The IPL 2025 season was in its final stages, and a total of 16 matches, including the final, were left to be played. The final match of the IPL 2025 season was to be played in Kolkata on 25 May, but given the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, it has been postponed indefinitely.
