Maha Kumbh 2025: Devotees continue to arrive in Maha Kumbh, The Chief Secretary and DGP will hold a meeting today regarding the stampede case

On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the stampede incident on the Sangam coast before the Mauni Amavasya bath, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar and DGP Prashant Kumar will come to Mahakumbh Nagar on Thursday. Both the officers will come to DPS ground by helicopter. From there they will go to the spot at Sangam coast by car. After this, an important meeting will also be held in the auditorium of the Mela Authority with senior officials.

 

After the stampede incident on the Sangam coast, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given many instructions. It has been said that whether it is the Mahakumbh Mela area or the routes outside Prayagraj, traffic should not stop anywhere. It is the responsibility of the government to take each devotee to their destination. Too much crowd should not gather at the stations and outside it. As many trains and buses as possible should be operated.

 

Increase patrolling on every route coming towards Prayagraj. There should be adequate arrangements for food and drinking water in the holding area. Along with this, the Chief Minister has also deployed Ashish Goyal, who has been the Divisional Commissioner in Prayagraj, and Bhanuchandra Goswami, who has been the District Magistrate and PDA Vice President, to further improve the arrangements in the Mahakumbh. Apart from them, five special secretaries have also been deployed. All of them will remain in Prayagraj till February 12.

 

After the unfortunate incident in the Maha Kumbh, the Chief Minister held a special meeting late night through video conferencing with senior officials posted in Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mirzapur, Basti, Jaunpur, Chitrakoot, Banda Ambedkar Nagar, Pratapgarh, Sant Kabir Nagar, Bhadohi, Rae Bareli, Gorakhpur districts in the presence of senior government level officials and gave directions.

 

Taking updated information from ADG and District Magistrate Prayagraj, the Chief Minister instructed to maintain constant vigilance and caution in the Maha Kumbh Mela area. He inquired from the officials of Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Chitrakoot about the arrangements made in view of the safety and convenience of the devotees coming from various areas. He instructed the officials of all the districts sharing the border with Prayagraj to maintain constant contact and coordination with the Prayagraj administration.
