After the new allegations of irregularities in the medical admission exam NEET-UG and the harsh comments of the Supreme Court on Tuesday, the Ministry of Education was seen in full action. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan himself held a long meeting with top officials on this issue. In which all aspects of the controversy related to NEET were discussed seriously.
According to the information that has come out at the moment, the ministry has asked to look at all those options keeping in mind the interests of the students, which also includes options like conducting the exam again. However, no decision has been taken on this yet.
Union Minister Pradhan angry with NTA's attitude
If sources related to the ministry are to be believed, Union Minister Pradhan is very angry with the attitude of the National Testing Agency (NTA) during this time. He believed that the way NTA should have maintained transparency regarding the exam and should have taken a step forward when the irregularities came to light, which they did not do.
NTA's top officials are sure to be punished
It is believed that after the proposed hearing of the NEET case in the Supreme Court on July 8, the top officials of NTA are sure to be punished in this case. In which major action can also be taken against NTA DG in this case. Education Minister Pradhan is constantly taking a tough stand on NTA and is saying that if any irregularities are found in this, then he will also be held accountable and whoever is involved in it will not be spared.
Students of examination centers should be re-examined
According to highly placed sources associated with the ministry, given the questions being raised by the students who appeared in the NEET-UG examination regarding the rigging and the interests of the students, the options being considered include re-examining the entire examination along with giving the option of re-examination to those students who have any doubts about the examination, like the 1563 students who got grace marks. Along with this, the other options that were discussed include re-examining the students of all those examination centers where irregularities have been found.
Which option will be more in the interest of the students?
If sources are to be believed, the ministry has taken feedback from the officials regarding all these options, which option will be more in the interest of the students. However, no final decision has been taken yet. But according to the indications being given, a decision can be taken on these soon. The ministry believes that its credibility is getting tarnished due to this issue being dragged on for too long.
It is worth noting that after withdrawing the grace marks recently, NTA has given the option of re-examination to all the 1563 students who got grace marks. Which is proposed on 23 June, while the result will come on 30 June. However, the way the option of the rest of the students appearing in the examination has been discussed again, clouds of doubt have started rising about this examination.
