The Union Ministry of Education has launched a new education program named Nav Bharat Literacy Program on Wednesday. The program aims to achieve all dimensions of adult education in the next five years. This scheme has been started under the new education policy. The Ministry of Education has also decided that the term 'education for all will now be used instead of adult education. The reason for this is that in the previous scheme, all age groups of 15 years and above were not able to cover.

It will focus on financial literacy, digital literacy, commercial skills, health care and awareness, critical life education, and family welfare. Apart from this, emphasis will also be given on vocational skill development, basic education at the elementary, middle, and secondary level, etc. to get local employment.
Continuing education under the Nav Bharat Literacy Program which includes adult education courses in arts, science, technology, culture, sports and entertainment, and life skills for the local people, etc. will be focused on. The official said that this scheme will be extended in online mode with the help of volunteers. Training sessions, workshops, etc. will also be organized in this. All the resources to help the registered volunteers will be made available through a digital medium like TV, radio, open-source apps, and portals.
