The Haryana Election 2024 Congress has suffered a second consecutive setback in the Rai constituency. After former MLA Jaitirth Dahiya, Jaspal Antil also left the Congress on Friday. He was also angry over not getting the ticket.
At the same time, while talking to journalists, he said that he even sold his land for Congress. Jaspal is a resident of Khevda, a big village in the area, and joined the Congress in 2009. He has also been the Deputy Speaker of Sonipat Lok Sabha.
Jaspal Antil said that he had been serving the Congress with all his heart for 16 years. In front of the journalists, he removed the picture of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda from his office.
Dahiya left the party accusing Hooda of cheating.
Jaitirth Dahiya, a close aide of former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda, who was a two-time MLA from Rai, resigned from the party on Monday. His resignation is being considered a setback for the party. He has sent his resignation to the party state president. Jaitirth Dahiya has accused Bhupendra Hooda of betrayal and bargaining in ticket distribution. Apart from Rai, he has also raised questions about the Congress leaders who have been made candidates from many assembly constituencies.
Jaitirth Dahiya has been an MLA from Rai from 2009 to 2014 and 2014 to 2019. Jaitirth Dahiya won the Rai assembly elections in 2014 by just three votes. While being an MLA, Dahiya had opened a front against the then-state president of Congress Ashok Tanwar in favor of Bhupendra Hooda and offered his resignation to the then-national president Rahul Gandhi.
For the first time, 14 candidates are in the fray.
For the first time in history, 14 candidates have entered the fray for the Rai seat. Here in almost every election, the margin of victory and defeat is less and the silence of the voters is pointing towards an exciting contest this time too. Candidates of all parties are worried about the silence of the voters.
In such a situation, BJP has announced the schedule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally on 26 September. In such a situation, the possibility of a rally of Congress's star campaigners has also increased. However, it is said about the voters here that the MLA is elected from the party which forms the government.
That's why Rai is special.
Rai is considered to be the entry and exit gate of Delhi for coming and going towards the Pakistan border, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. From the British Sultanate to the present, the people here have made great sacrifices to protect the country's capital.
During the farmers' movement, the government was successful in stopping the entry of farmers into Delhi. Singhu border is one of the biggest entry points of Delhi and has connectivity with the capitals of five states of North Haryana.
