Another shocking information has emerged regarding the white-collar doctor terrorist module. The mastermind, Dr Umar Nabi, had been searching for a suicide bomber since last year. Investigating officials claimed on Sunday that interrogation of the accused, Jaseer alias Danish, arrested from Qazigund in South Kashmir, revealed that Dr Umar was a staunch radical. He consistently insisted that a suicide bomber was needed to carry out the terrorist plot.
The terrorists' plot failed when Jaseer, alias Danish, refused to join the suicide squad at the last moment. Citing suicide as forbidden in Islam, Jaseer refused to become a suicide bomber.
The interrogation also revealed that Dr Umar Nabi, the mastermind of the Delhi bombings, had brainwashed Jaseer and persuaded him to become a suicide bomber. Doctors arrested in connection with the recovery of explosives in Faridabad also revealed during interrogation that Jaseer, a political science student, had been radicalised by Umar to become a suicide bomber since 2023. When asked to carry out the attack in 2025, Jaseer refused, citing Islam's sin of committing suicide.
Jaseer backed out in April 2025, and the plan failed.
According to media reports, Dr Umar had brainwashed Jaseer for several months in a rented house near Al-Falah University in Faridabad to carry out the suicide attack. Jaseer backed out in April 2025, which foiled the terrorists' plan. It should be noted that terrorist Dr Umar Nabi carried out a car bombing near the Red Fort in Delhi. Fourteen people have died in the blast, while several others are receiving treatment.
A video glorifying suicide attacks was found on Omar's phone.
Police have found a video glorifying suicide attacks on the phone of Dr Omar Un Nabi, who carried out the car bombing in front of the Red Fort Metro station. Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered this phone. Omar made several videos talking about suicide attacks and claiming that such acts are the most praiseworthy in religion.
One such approximately two-minute video of Omar has gone viral on social media. Based on the video, agencies believe that Omar recorded such videos to mislead people. During the video, Omar is seen sitting alone on a chair in a room, expressing his views on suicide attacks. Omar says that suicide bombing is one of the most misunderstood ideas.
It is, in fact, a campaign for martyrdom. During the video, there is no sign of distress or fear on his face. However, he is seen faltering several times during the recording and then abruptly ending the video. Officials said on Tuesday that this crucial evidence emerged after the detention and interrogation of Omar's brother, Zahoor Elahi. When the entire white-collar terrorist network began to unravel, Elahi was arrested by a special team formed by Srinagar's Senior Superintendent of Police, G.V. Sandeep Chakravarty.
He initially tried to deny the case but later confessed that Omar was in the Kashmir Valley between October 26 and 29. He had given him the mobile phone, telling him to throw it into the water if any news about him emerged. Elahi later led the police team to the spot where he had thrown the phone.
The phone was damaged, but forensic experts were able to extract crucial information from it. It revealed that Omar was radicalised by exposure to violent extremist material. He watched radical videos featuring suicide bombings released by the Islamic State (IS) and al-Qaeda. He subsequently made videos of himself glorifying suicide attacks, calling them martyrdom.
These videos are part of a larger collection.
According to officials, these videos of Umar were shot in April, in which he speaks in a heavy accent. In them, he says that such actions are not only justified but also commendable in the context of jihad. Police believe this video is part of a larger collection. Officials said the phone has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further investigation. They added that the NIA will soon take his brother into custody.
Agencies believe that Umar was the most radicalised and prominent member of this network spread across Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Based on the evidence gathered so far, officials believe that Umar was planning a powerful vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) explosion, possibly targeting a crowded area or a place of religious significance, around the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition on December 6.
