North Korea fired missiles before the US and South Korean military exercise, dictator Kim Jong was present

North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile on Thursday just before the start of joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States. Pyongyang's news agency KCNA said that Kim Jong Un was present on the field to see it when the missile was fired. The report, however, did not specify which weapon was seen by Kim to fire, indicating the destruction of an enemy air base.

 

Bad relations between the two countries

It is known that the relations between the two Koreas are going through the worst situation in decades. Nuclear-armed North Korea has carried out its most provocative test of banned weapons since South Korea stepped up security cooperation with Washington.

Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff said North Korea launched a short-range ballistic missile from the western port city of Nampo at 6:20 p.m. local time. North Korea has long claimed that its nuclear weapons and missile programs are for self-defense. North Korea has described US-South Korean military exercises as a rehearsal for an invasion.
