Mumbai and Assam Police are looking for YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia aka 'BeerBiceps Guy' for his obscene comments. He has been accused of making indecent comments in an episode of the stand-up comedy show 'India's Got Latent'.

As soon as Mumbai Police and Guwahati Police reached his flat to question him, they found that Ranveer Allahabadia was not present there. His apartment was locked.

Mumbai Police said that when they reached Ranveer's house, his house was locked and his phone was switched off. Ranveer's lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud could not be contacted either.

Police had reached out to record a statement.

A police officer told news agency PTI that Mumbai Police had started the investigation and went to his apartment located in the Versova area of the city to question him. On Thursday, Allahabadia was asked to come to the Khar police station in Mumbai and record his statement. But later he requested that this work be done at his home.

However, the police refused to accept this request. But when he did not appear, the police issued a second summons and reached his house. Along with the Mumbai police, Assam police officials also reached for questioning.

Why is Assam police investigating?

The Assam policemen wanted to question Allahabadia in a case filed by a resident. The man accused Ranveer of promoting intimate content on online platforms. The case was registered in Guwahati on Monday and also names stand-up comedian Samay Raina, who hosts the show 'India's Got Latent'.

Raina has also been summoned by the Mumbai Police and the Maharashtra Cyber Department, which is conducting an independent investigation. He was asked to appear within five days, but he has sought more time saying that he is currently in the US.

A lawyer knocked on the door of the Supreme Court.

However, when Allahabadia was not at his home for questioning, his lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud, son of former Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, approached the Supreme Court seeking relief from several cases.

He has sought clubbing of all Allahabadia's cases together and requested an early hearing, but Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna refused, saying the date of the hearing has already been fixed. He also sought anticipatory bail to escape from Guwahati police.
