Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini may soon expand his cabinet after meeting PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda. Efforts will be made to maintain caste and regional equations in the cabinet.
After getting approval from the top leadership, Saini also discussed with former CM Manohar Lal on Wednesday night. There are speculations that before the code of conduct, departments will be divided with the expansion of the cabinet. Punjabi, Yadav, Vaishya, and women sections have not yet got representation in the cabinet.
In such a situation, priority will be given to the MLAs belonging to these communities. Anil Vij, who comes from the Punjabi community, is certain to join the cabinet. He may be assigned to the health department along with the departments of former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala.
It is not yet decided who will hold the Home Department. To give representation to women, Ganaur MLA Nirmal Chaudhary, who comes from Jat quota, can also be made a minister. Kamlesh Dhanda was included as the women minister in the Manohar government.
At the same time, the name of Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta from the Vaishya community is leading. It was certain that he would become a minister in the second innings of the Manohar government, but Kamal Gupta was made minister in his place.
Kuldeep Bishnoi's son Bhavya Bishnoi may also get a ministerial post. Kuldeep has been batting for them for a long time. BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi's name is also running as a candidate for Hisar Lok Sabha constituency.
If he becomes the grand minister, then the party can field Captain Abhimanyu from Hisar Lok Sabha in place of Kuldeep. If he does not become the grand minister, Kuldeep's claim will be strengthened. At the same time, Sandeep Singh, accused of molesting a female coach, is certain to be dismissed.
Ahirwal belt will also get representation
Ahirwal Belt is certain to get representation in the cabinet. In such a situation, Omprakash Yadav, close to Rao Inderjit, can be made a minister again. He was also a Minister of State in the Manohar government. However, IPS-turned-MLA Dr. Abhay Singh Yadav is also being discussed a lot. But Rao Inderjit is against Abhay Yadav. The Saini government will not ignore Rao Inderjit. BJP MLA Laxman Yadav's number may also be included.
Independent MLAs will also get responsibility
After breaking the alliance with JJP, the Saini government has been able to prove its majority only with the help of independent MLAs. Now it remains to be seen how many independent MLAs are included in the cabinet. The name of Prithla MLA Nayanpal Rawat is the most discussed.
Kanda important for assembly elections
Assembly elections are going to be held in the state after seven months. In this, Sirsa MLA Gopal Kanda can be important for the BJP. Gopal Kanda has a lot of influence in Sirsa. Saini government also has the support of Kanda. He can also be a part of the cabinet.
