Guwahati, April 7 (IANS) "Modi magic will not work here. It is Tarun Gogoi's magic that will work here," Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said Monday.
He made the comment after expressing confidence that the Congress will win all five of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam that saw polling Monday.
Gogoi credited the lack of the "Modi magic" -- a reference to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi -- to the "development work" done by the Congress in Assam in the last 13 years.
Speaking to the media after voting in Jorhat town along with his wife Dolly Gogoi, he said: "We earlier had problems like insurgency and lack of development (in Assam).
"The performance of my government in Assam is better than Gujarat's in many aspects. Our work is our identity and I am confident people will vote for Congress candidates in all the five Lok Sabha constituencies."
