This story is completed against the backdrop of Delhi. Delhiites Rocky Randhawa (Ranveer Singh) and Rani Chatterjee (Alia Bhatt) have diametrically opposite likes and dislikes. Nothing matches between them. Rocky comes from a rich family and Rani comes from a middle-class family.
The Randhawa family has a sweets business, which is run by grandmother Dhanalakshmi (Jaya Bachchan). Rani comes from an educated family. The families of both do not like each other. This thing becomes a hindrance to their love. In such a situation, how Rocky and Rani reunite their respective families, is shown in the film.
