Now booster dose of corona will be available in private centers, every adult will be able to get it: Ministry of Health

The pace of corona infection is decreasing rapidly in the country and in the meantime, the government has taken a big decision to eliminate its threat. From Sunday i.e. April 10, every adult citizen of the country will have the facility to get a booster dose of the corona vaccine. If a person wants to take a booster dose, then he can get it done by going to private centers. According to the information given by the Ministry of Health, any person above the age of 18 years can get the vaccine. However, it is not mandatory to take this booster dose. It is completely optional. If someone finds it necessary to take a booster dose, then he can get it done.

 

The Health Ministry said that people who are over 18 years of age and more than 9 months have passed since the second dose, can take the precautionary dose. This facility will be available at private vaccination centers. The ministry said that at present the first and second doses are being administered at government centers. Apart from this, booster doses are also being given to healthcare workers, frontline workers, and people above 60 years of age at these centers. Apart from this, other people who are willing to take a booster dose can also get vaccinated by visiting private vaccination centers.

 

96 percent of people above 15 years got the first dose

 

In the country, 96 percent of the people above the age of 15 years have received at least one dose of the corona vaccine. Apart from this, 83 percent of the population has received both vaccines. So far 2.4 crore people in the country have taken the booster dose of the Corona vaccine. Most of these people are healthcare workers and frontline workers. Apart from this, elderly people above 60 years of age have also taken a large number of booster doses. The Health Ministry says that 45 percent of people between the ages of 12 and 14 have received the first dose of the vaccine.

 

The government told - who will continue to get the vaccine for free

 

The ministry said that the free vaccination campaign by the government will continue for the first and second doses. Apart from this, people above 60 years of age and front-line workers will also continue to receive booster doses free of cost in government centers. Significantly, the rate of corona infection is decreasing rapidly in the country and now the number of active cases has come down to less than 12 thousand.
