10 thousand people are dying every day
Tushar Mehta said that 37 lakh people, that is, 10,000 people, are dying every day due to dog bites. 305 deaths every year due to rabies, while the World Health Organization model shows a much higher number than this.
Let us tell you that on August 11, taking suo motu cognizance of the dog bite case in the national capital, the Supreme Court ordered to remove all the dogs from the streets of Delhi-NCR within eight weeks, and directed the officials to build shelters for them and not leave them back.

Kapil Sibal, appearing on behalf of an NGO, said that there is no shelter home for dogs, and not everyone will come to the ones that are there. This matter is big and it should be heard further. He said that till then, this order should be stayed.

A three-member bench of Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Sandeep Mehta, and Justice NV Anjaria heard the matter. Justice Nath further said that the local authorities are not doing what they should be doing. They should take responsibility here.
